The 585th Engineer
Company (Vietnam) Association has donated a one time amount of
$2500.00 to the new, yet to be built, United States Army Museum at
Fort Belvoir, Virginia. In a brief note to Brigadier General
Creighton Abrams Jr.; Executive Director, Army Historical
Foundation, it was noted the 585th Engineer Company had deployed to
Vietnam from Fort Belvoir in 1966. In closing, General Abrams was
advised the 585th is planning a reunion in the Fort Belvoir area
during the October 2009 timeframe. At that reunion, the 585th
Vietnam Vets will surely visit the new Army Museum as a group."
