Subject:        Employment Questionaire, VAF 21-4140-1
Please pass to your organizations.   Periodically, the VA sends an employment questionaire to veterans who receive 100% compensation do to unemployability (IU) reasons.  The question asked is, "have you worked in the past 12 months."  If the VA does not get this form back, they will stop the IU portion of your compensation.  Often the vet will return the questionaire direct to the Regional Office, bypassing his/her advocate.  Sometimes the VA will claim they never received the questionaire …. Sometimes it could remain hung up in the VA mail system for weeks, if not months.  If any of your respective members receive this form, please bring it to our office …… even if we did not file the original claim.  I will prepare the form and forward it under a transmittal giving us an opportunity to trace the questionaire if lost or hung up in the mail.  I'll even pay the postage!!
