585th Reunion 2006, San Antonio, TX

Question - Why do we dress up for dinner is usually brought up at each reunion.  Answer - We don't dress up for the dinner.  We dress up for the Memorial Service to honor and pay our respects  for our brothers who were killed in action and those that have since passed.

 

Another reunion has come to a close.  We had 148 registered members, families and guests, plus two late comers, bringing the attendance up to 150.  Registered members were from all years. 

In believing I speak for all those in attendance, I want to give a "Hearty Thank You" to Ken Seymour and all those that pitched in,  to make this reunion such a success.

The only disappointment I can think of, is there was not enough time in the day to spend time with everyone.  I still had a great time and looking forward to March 2008

Hey all you 585th members,

The Combat Action Badge was presented to all 585th MEMBERS that attended the reunion.  For those of you that wish to receive this badge, you will have to attend the next reunion in 2008 at which time it will again be presented to those that have not received it, and are in attendance.  This badge is the in the same category as the Combat Infantry Badge.  None will be mailed out, so one has to attend.  For more information on this badge, go to unit awards on the front page.  Col Seymour is the person that drafted the bill and is in the house at the present under HR 2267.  Contact your congress person to support this bill.  We want it retroactive to cover WW II and Korean Veterans
